Casegoods

Casegoods

Casegoods are furniture without upholstery, like cocktail tables, end tables, accent tables, console tables, chairs, tables, desks, cabinets, and chests.

When shopping for furniture, you can buy them already assembled, or pre-assembled, as in casegoods, or ready to assemble, for the do-it-yourselfers. Of course, if you assemble it, the price is much lower. Generally, high-quality furniture costs more.

Good quality casegoods range in prices because of the different construction techniques, materials or finishes used. They are usually made of strong hardwoods. If you want your furniture to last for years, buy the best furniture you can afford.

Be careful what you buy. Cheaper is not always better. Unfortunately, there is furniture that is of poor quality purchased every day. You can see them in trash piles all the time, while good quality furniture can lasts years, as seen in the antiques still around today, after hundreds of years.

Remember, each casegood piece does not have to match, or what we call "cookie cutter" design. Each piece should stand out on its own. Your cocktail table does not have to be the same as the end tables. Your bedroom nightstands do not have to match your dressers. Find pieces that can relate with each other, but unique in itself.
