Living Room Furniture
Living room furniture can be easy to shop for if you have a plan. Never purchase your furniture without first measuring your space. You don’t want to be stuck with furniture you can’t fit in your room.
If you’ve ever visited a furniture store, you’ll know that some store representatives are willing to sell you just about everything. That’s because they make a commission on everything they sell, so be wise and walk in with a plan.
Let them know exactly what you are looking for and make sure to give them your floorplan and the space and square footage you are working with. They will know the sizes of the furniture pieces they carry.
Once you’ve determined your furniture style and design theme you’ll want to then consider what functions will be performed in your living room to determine the furniture needed and the best furniture arrangement in the space.
Since we multi-task in our living rooms, our furniture must accommodate such tasks. Consider all the things you will use the living room for such as eating, watching TV, entertaining friends, playing board games, reading, listening to music and more.
Next, consider the furniture needed according to functions. Basic living room furniture consists of sofa, loveseat, lounge chairs, accent chairs, cocktail table, end tables and entertainment centers.
If you are a piano player you will need to consider space for that. If you like to play chess, you will need to consider a chess table. Perhaps you need a desk in the space. All functions need to be considered and part of your plan before you purchase.
